Public communiqué by the Mapuche Political Prisoners in Angol Prison
We state the following to public national and international opinion:
Kiñe: The Mapuche Political Prisoners on hunger strike in Angol prison reaffirm our decision to maintain our hunger strike to the final consequences.
Epu: After 25 days of mobilization we have had no response from government officials, which does not intimidate us, since we know that we are being held for political, not judicial reasons. We have made the decision to mobilize the communities in resistance; therefore all events that occur from now on will be the responsibility of the government. The authorities have demonstrated that the solutions to our demands cannot be done through dialog.
Kula: We will continue onward with all the Newen [Energy] of our Ñuke Mapu [Mother Earth], strengthening ourselves with Lawen, and working with Machi [Medicine Healer] Moises Cheuque and with Doctor Luis Umaña. Yesterday we were examined and the reports of our health were published, and have demonstrated the deterioration of our physical health, as well as the life scares these mobilizations will carry.
Meli: We call out to social movements and various communities in resistance in Wallmapu to mobilize in favour of our cause in various ways, in a diversity of tactics, since all governments respond to pressure and mobilization.
