4 days have already passed since the death of Estate Lord Werner Luchsinger and his wife in a fire in Vilcun and there has not been a single moment where other Estate Lords, businessmen and all who have capitalist interests in Wallmapu have ordered the Chilean State on what to do in order to compensate for the tycoon’s death.
And as expected the Chilean Government was more than willing to oblige in ecoing these racist cries and imposed (although not stated officially) a true State of Siege in Wallmapu, with all the weight it carries with it.
Raids, Arrests, Tortures and Especially Set-Ups
The first accused in this case was Machi [Medicine Healer] Ceferino Córdova Tránsito of Yeupeko. The Peñi [Brother] was injured and arrested almost 2 km from the fire. He was tortured for at least 2 hours before being taken to hospital.
The next day, Werken [Spokesperson] Jaime Huenchulán was arrested by police, where at the moment of his arrest police remained silent and simply proceeded to subdue and transfer him to the Police Division in militarized Ercilla. They verified his identity after three hours and a long bureaucratic procedure (something that everyone in the area knows given the small size of the township), thereby releasing him.
On the evening of the same day, Machi [Medicine Healer] Francisca Linconao, was brutally arrested in her home of Lof Rawe. On top of being mistreated (where police took her traiwe, handkerchief, and undid her braids), the Lamnien [Sister] she was alos injured from the violent acts of the police.
Yesterday night, police raided the Autonomous Mapuche Community of Temucuicui, leaving one person seriously injured. This time it was Pablo Millanao, 34 years old, where Special Police Force Units brutally beat him leaving him unconscious, then proceeded to take off part of his clothes and left him abandoned in a public road of the community, after which he was transferred to Ercilla health station and then to the Hospital in the town of Victoria.
We should expect the harassment to continue and there be more arrests in what is a true Mapuche hunt, since it is clear the persecution will continue as well as the arbitrary arrests and increased security measures. However none of that is important for the occupation, since in the end someone must pay and most importantly will be Mapuche.
It will be very difficult for the Government to impose any measure that will end with the Centennial resistance to the occupation of our Wallmapu, and that perhaps the best measure to protect the Settlers for them to simply leave or that the Chilean State relocate them out of our Mapuche Nation.
