The Chilean Government maintains its logic of war against the Mapuche People in struggle and only responds with force unto the mobilizations. It is in this way that it seeks to suffocate the dignified hunger strike that the Mapuche youth are carrying out in prison, which has resulted in their forceful transfer from Angol to Concepcion and the threat to forcefully be fed.
This is the way in which they seek to end the hunger strike and silence the demands of freedom by the Peñi [Brothers] who at the same time maintain their demands of territorial reclamation.
Communiqué of the Mapuche Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike from Concepcion Hospital
Kiñe [One]: This has been a kidnapping and a violation of our human rights that we suffered on Wednesday, October 10th of this year by the Gendarmerie of the Correctional Centre of Angol at approximately 4:30PM, saying that we were to be taken to a routine health check in the hospital of that particular city. After the health check, they informed us of what would be our true destination (which initiated a series of panic, rage, doubt, etc…) and asked the Gendarmerie where we were headed with no response.
Epu [Two]: We state to our People as well as to other civilians that support our hunger strike that we will continue this act of mobilization.
Kvla [Three]: We would also like to state our frustration to the Health sector in the Araucanía Region, since they did not take into account the family situation of each one of us.
Meli [Four]: It is for this reason we will not detain the hunger strike while there is no solution to our demands and our freedom is given.
To our families and our People
